I cannot find mp3 files of your podcast to download. Pls help
Looks like a wordpress issue. Give me a day or two and I will figure it out.
For the past few years…. I get old magazines at the craft shows… mostly Quilting Newsletter I tear out the patterns and articles I liked and put them in sleeves. Over time I could track when techniques showed up in the magazines… ie using rotary cutters and best ways to use them. If article showed stack and whack then stack and whack showed up in later magazines. I was amazed at how the articles influenced the trends in quilts.
I could track when ideas came and went. I found that interesting. I have one binder with old articles on techniques we use every day when we craft and quilt. It is fun to see the tiime line of quilting techniques.

I liked your review on the old magazines. A local second-hand bookstore has a section of old quilting books and magazines on their shelves. Your podcast has inspired me to make a stop in at the store soon to look through the section to see if I can find something that speaks to me.
It’s really nice to have you back, Brye Lynn. I was listening to you while at work today – you made me giggle a few times
Hi, Enjoyed your latest podcast. I just wanted to say, about your voice, it seemed to me on your older podcasts that you were sort of whispering, I assumed, to not wake people in your house up, or to be overheard. Your driving voice seems less inhibited in that way. Both are good! Keep up the great podcasts!
Hi – So glad to hear from you again. YEAH – great job.
Brye, Just a caution about pressing seams open. It isn’t a good idea if you want to stitch in the ditch for your quilting. Thread alone from piecing is not enough to hold quilting, you have to have some fabric there too.
And the tip about spritzing the thread is good for any cotton thread because it makes the fiber swell up. But the “purest” quilter probably is not using silk etc.
Thanks for the new shows, I am glad you are back. I really think that we need to work out a deal that you do my machine quilting..That is my least favorite part. Plus I think that I don’t know what I am doing and don’t have the right machine to do it. So for now I have been stuck with doing table runners or smaller things as I can’t it in there and make it look right. Keep up the great work!
Hey Brye Lynn! Thanks for the podcast. Enjoyed it. Yes, I think the Southern does come out more lately when you record. Thats a good thing. And I agree with you totally about how wonderful quilting a big quilt (any quilt, really) feels. I was working on one earlier today and just stopped & sat there and enjoyed looking at the big mounds of fluffy quilt piled up all around my machine and me. Such a satisfying feeling! Oh, one other thing. You mentioned my yarn story and I do have to clarify that I am only a non-stasher where yarn is concerned. Fabric, look out!
Brye – Just listened to your newest podcast. So happy to hear your voice again! Thanks for all you’re doing for our sewing community with your podcast and Seamed UP.
