Episode 49 ~ Egronomics in Sewing
Listen to the podcast of this postToday we talked about some ergonomic principles as they apply to sewing.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by the website these past two weeks and left comments, emails, or sent pictures.
Daphne sent these great pictures of her attempt as fusing plastic. She agrees with me that the fusing part is very frustrating. But her work came out much better than mine.

I finished putting borders on my Frolic quilt and the disappearing nine patch.
Congratulations to our recent giveaway winners; please send me your address so I can get your prize in the mail.

I really liked the Christmas Quilt. I have a little problem with applique still cause I don’t know what is best to use when I’m doing it. I just bought some steam a seam and use that to see if it works. I have used glue before but it is sticky and makes the fabric wet. If anyone has some some good ideas let me know please.
Jackie, Your black and white is way cool. Nice job. Now I have another entry on my “quilts to make” list!! Keep it up. Tami
Your frolic quilt turned out fabulous!! Doesn’t it feel good to have a finish. No need to enter me in the contest as I have enough of my own stuff to do. But I really love yours. Thanks for continuing to podcast. Yours is the first one I listen too!
I am a new listener so I have listened to all your podcasts at once so I feel like I have spent a lot of time with you. I had a son just like yours. I used to ground him from electricity so he couldn’t play nintendo (which was the game of choice at the time) and the library so he couldn’t go there and play on the computer. He did have great grades though, how I never knew, so watch out for your younger daughter as she will be him! He now has his doctorate in Genetics all paid for by NWestern and his law degree also from there. Who knew?
Anyway, love the blog, love the podcast. Love the web page. Thanks for all your hard work, we all appreciate it.
Awsome quilts, Brye!! Love the totebag too. Thanks so much for the podcast! Tami
Love the border on frolic. came out absolutely wonderful. As for your comments about process vs project quilter. I have been thinking about it. I think there is a middle ground in there where yes you see things to make for specific people. you see something that screams I should make this for X. but the other half of the projects seem to be cause I see a technique I want to try.
I hadn’t even listened to the podcast yet, but when I read that you were giving away your “Frolic” pattern, I had to leave a quick comment. I love how your quilt turned out. I agree with everyone else, I still can’t believe that you will be giving it away as a gift, it too beautiful to give-away! I love Verna Mosquera’s patterns (I have “Vintage Valentine” myself) and I would love the opportunity in the give-away.
Great job on the applique. How could you ever part with that quilt.
I would love to have that pattern. I have pictures of my latest applique and will try to send you some of my pictures.
We’d love to see your pictures!!
The Frolic quilt is absolutely beautiful! Wow – I can see how much work went into it. What an accomplishment, especially with your hectic schedule. (I still can’t believe how you pack so much into each day. I really appreciate your encouragement to craft each day since, as your Frolic quilt shows, the little efforts you put in each week add up to something great in the end.)
Your Frolic quilt is beautiful! Your sister-in-law is going to be trilled. Thanks for sharing the near finished shots. And thanks again for the podcast. It gives me something to look forward to on Monday mornings (I listen at work) :c) It’s a secret…shhh.
I really like the border you picked for Frolic.
Love your quilts Brye, especially Frolic. It’s so fun to see it all finished! YAY you! Hope youare doing well…
Your frolic quilt turned out wonderful! You should be proud of your beautiful work. I enjoyed hearing about your new critters too. Thanks for a great podcast.
Your frolic quilt is beautiful!!! Wow! Thanks for the kind words about my plastic bags.
(I have a confession, the handles are fabric. It’s also lined in fabric)
Anyway, love the podcast!
Wow, the frolic quilt is amazing!! I agree with Glenna, how can you give it away BUT if you are like me – by the time you’re done with it you don’t like it anymore. Amy
BTW: Thanks for the great review of The Quilter’s Notebook on your last podcast.
Wow, your Frolic quilt is fantastic. I know you said it was going to be a gift but how can you stand to give it away?
)
Hi Brye – WOW I can’t believe I won one of your giveaways. How cool is that – I’m tickled! Thank you so much! I’m off to send you an email. By the way, Frolic looks fantastic, really a great job!
Frolic is absolutely beautiful! I just love your podcast!
I tried to post this comment on your basting post, but it seems the comments are closed. I just wrote a little about basting on my blog at: http://artquiltmaker.com/blog/2010/06/basting-quilting/.
Your Frolic quilt is looking great. Sorry I haven’t been listening or commenting or anything. I was sick and am having a REALLY hard time getting back into the swing of things. Look forward to catching up on your podcast and hearing how you are doing. Thanks for your hard work!
