Thank you to everyone who left comments this week.

  • Almosaquilter suggested Aurifil thread to help stay within a quarter inch
  • Denise reminded me that thread position can help with thread troubles.

Beach Town from Jaye at www.artquiltmaker.com.  The colors are wonderful!  get a closer look to see her beading and hand work.  Thank you so much for sharing Jaye!

Congratulations to Pat!  Our winner of the Quilty Sayings Fat Quarter.

The Frolic quilt top is DONE!!!  All applique and embroider is completed and the quilt top is pieced.  Next is adding borders.

This is the yarn I bought for Rick’s socks.  You can’t see it in the picture, but there are flecks of dark grey and black.  Check out my messy desk – see the iPod to the side.  lol

I just found your podcast and blog this week. Thank you for taking the time to share your sewing with everyone! Your quilts are inspirational, and I look forward to reading and listening to more!

    Dear everyone,
Thank you for your kind comments on my quilt. The quilt is very small (22.25×14.25 inches), which made it a great portable project during the handwork stage. The handwork is all embroidery using Perl cotton. I quilted the living daylights out of the thing, which makes it very flat. The quilting took me, probably, 10 hours. Pamela Allen is an awesome teacher. If you ever have a chance to take one of her classes, jump at the chance. She knows how to teach and how to encourage students to do their best work. She isn’t mean, but doesn’t coddle either. I have taken 3 of her classes and would take another in a heartbeat. Thanks, Brye for featuring my quilt.

Brye, Frolic is GORGEOUS! You should be proud and you SHOULD crow about finishing the different stages. Nice work. Thanks for sharing.

Your Frolic is absolutely beautiful! It is a totally great winter time quilt. You did a wonderful job on all the applique work. Your sister-in-law will be so thrilled to have such a delightful, happy holiday time quilt.
Jaye’s art quilt is leaves me with such a happy-go-lucky feeling. If I were to look at something like that, I would never have grumbelly day even when co-workers don’t pull their fair workload.

  • That is a great looking quilt. Are you using casade yarn for the socks?

  • Lisa says:

  • Mary Bennett says:

Have you tried doing a snowball like sashing with a cornerstone — makes a star at each block
Sometimes it is fun to make your sashing from miniature blocks like 9 patches or flying geese
If you have not invested in quilt wizard by electric quilt .you are missing a lot of fun . It is the simple version of EQ and sells full price only 29.95 I have found it 50% off at Joanne’s Craft Warehouse ect . Easy enough my 12 year old niece can use it and it helps her math skills as well .
See if you can sample it somewhere You will love it

  • Debby, Chester NY says:
