Episode 39 – 1 Year Anniversary
Listen to the podcast of this postThis week marks the 1 year anniversary of the Sew Stitch Create Podcast. Today I discussed the origins of the podcast, where I plan to go with it, as well as the projects I completed over this past year. In the next few days I will create a page showing you how to start your own podcast.
There are currently two contests going on.
- Send me a picture of you making continuous bias tape to be entered to win a bias tape maker. The deadline is 6pm EST March 1st.
- Leave a comment, leave a voicemail, or send me a picture to highlight to be entered to win a tool holder. The deadline is March 8th.
I thought this quilt was appropriate to share this week, since so many of you are knee deep in snow. Emily made this quilt as a gift for her daughter. It is the only quilt she has ever sent out to be quilted and she did it to surprise her daughter. I think it is adorable. It is machine appliqued. Thank you for sharing Emily.

I am Brye Lynn, host, author, and creator of Sew ~ Stitch ~ Create! I am a lifetime sewer and beginner quilter. This blog is dedicated to my journey into the crafting world as I learn and explore my favorite medium – fiber and fabric.

Happy Anniversary! I liked the show even though you thought you were rambling. It was nice to hear a review.
I finely got a chance to listen to the podcast today while I was quilting. It’s great that you and your husband were able to win some money at the casino. On the block of the month or the book of the month idea, I like it. I will be looking forward to whatever you decide to do.
Brye Lynn,
Congratulations on your one year anniversary! I have enjoyed every single podcast you have done for all of us!!
Thank you for all the nice comments about my quilt! I bought the book at the shop where the sample was and my daughter was very happy and surprised. It’s from “Country Quilts for Friends” by Margaret Peters & Anne Sutton from C & T (2004). It has “18 charming projects for all seasons”, even a stuffed felt Easter Bunny, other adorable quilts and a little red work piece. The projects are not too difficult and instructions are very clear. Emily
Hi Brye,
Congratulations on your one year anniversary of your podcast! I think you have done an amazing job! I haven’t quite caught up with all the old episodes yet, but I am really enjoying listening to them when I get some quiet time. You have a great voice and I love that you chat about your life a bit too.
Emily, the quilt is beautiful! Such a neat idea to do it in secret too.

Just listened to your one year anniversary podcast – you inspired me to think about podcasting. Maybe someday I’ll follow your advice. Thank you
I love Emily’s quilt. I’ve been wanting to make a wintery-snowman quilt, also. And Congratulations on your 1st anniversary! I remember listening to your first episode. It doesn’t seem like it’s been a year. Time flies when your having fun!! Luv ya!
Congratulations on your anniversary! Hard to believe it has been a year. Thanks so much for what you do. Love the podcast.
I love Emily’s quilt. Did she by chance say what pattern it is and who makes it? I love snowmen and I would be interested in finding out the pattern details in order to get the pattern to make a snowman quilt myself.
You have put together a good number of podcasts for just one year. I have enjoyed listening and learning from them.
Emily’s quilt is so adorable! I’m sure her daughter is thrilled. Congratulations on your 1 year anniversary! And, here’s to many more (totally being selfish here o:) !
