Listen to the podcast of this postLots of eye candy this week! We talked about the Quilt Show held by a local guild.
Thank you to everyone visited the website and left comments. I heard from Vanessa, Toni, Lisa, Gidget, Patricia, Samanta, nancy, and Jandi.
Melanie sent us a great picture of a wall hanging she gave as a secret santa gift this past Christmas. I love the color choices. The pattern came fro www.freepatterns.com. I love the 3D flowers and her machine quilting. Leave a comment and let Melanie know what you think.

Hi Brye
The Affairs of the Heart quilt is a pattern by Aie Rossmann of Calgary (yay!). Her site is here: http://www.lotuslands.ab.ca/affairs.html I’ve seen her work at a show here, and it is just stunningly beautiful. I see on her site that she says this quilt is easy. I don’t think I’d attempt it!
I answered your survey and see that all of us so far quilt our own quilts. If I make something, I want to do it all myself. You know how when you show people things you’ve made and they say “Did you MAKE that?” with awe in their eyes? I’d hate to have to answer – “Well, I pieced it but I paid someone else to quilt it.”
Anyway, thanks for the virtual quilt show.

Forgot to mention, I am also in the mood to “finish” things.
I love going to local quilt shows. The quilts may not be as polished at the big shows, but I really enjoy seeing what “regular quilters” like me are doing. Thanks for sharing! By the way, have I told you lately how much I love your podcast?
Melanie – LOVE the 3D flowers! I can’t stop looking at the pics!
Brye Lynn – great pictures from the show…I’m not much for applique myself, – so much hand work, so little time – but after looking at the Cabin in the Woods and More Cabin in the Woods, I might have to commit to giving it a try…at least something small!
Thanks for the inspiration!
I had to laugh about the olympics. I love to watch the olympics, however, I don’t get anything else done not even folding of laundry. I am just so drawn to the action of the particpants. I am glad the the US is doing so well but at the same time I cheer for the countries that only have a hand full of participants competeing. I so want the particpants to go back to their little countries with a medal. I am envious of my son and daughter-in-law they are going to the olympics on Saturday. I know they will have a good time.
Thanks for posting pictures of the beautiful quilts, especially the closeups. I so envious that you were able to go to a quilt show. In Maryland, we got so much snow lately that it feels like we have been house bound forever. Things are starting to get back to normal and in some areas, I can see green life reaching for the sun. Keep up the great work on your podcasts, website and blogs!

Melanie’s secret santa person got a great gift. That is a beautiful quilt.
The quilts at the quilt show are so interesting. It is unbelievable how life-like the dog one is. The quilter matched fabrics up so well.

AMAZING that is all I can say, that 3D of Melanies, shehas talent. Love the eye candy and the “Affairs of the Heart” quilt, well that is on my “to do one day” list – which seems to get bigger. Thanks Brye for taking so many lovely lovely photos to share with us, especially me in Australia, where there isn’t always a quilt show to go and drool over every month.
Hey! Wow, beautiful quilts at the quilt show. And I can’t imagine what they were like seeing them in person.
Great job on the wall-hanging Melanie! I love that the flowers are 3D, love the texture. You did a great job!
OK, so I can’t spell. That should be “accepted” not “excepted”
Hi Brye Lynn, Here’s the link to my quilt guild’s website
