Just use really small dabs on the back of each piece. Just stay away from the edges so the applique stitches are easy to do. I do not do needle turn but the starch method. I find that I get great shapes and pretty good points. I hope you bought the blue pin things to keep the nozzle cleaned out. It is really hard to keep the glue running when the tip gets clogged.
