Topic of the week – Quillow!
A quillow is a quilt that folds up into a pillow. I made one out of 5 different white fabrics as a gift for my mother recently.

Quillows are a great way to finish all those quilt tops you have lying around.
Come back later this week for detailed instructions on how to make a quillow.

Brye Lynn,
Loved hearing about the Quillow you made and it looks great! Lucky Mom.
Your reindeer came out great, what a wonderful quilt that will be!
Loved seeing the Centennial Basket pattern from The Schoolhouse Quilt
Shop. I took my first quilt lesson at their shop when I lived in Ohio, before they sold the shop. It was a beautiful shop, would have made the Quilt Sampler Magazine!
Thanks again for your podcast.

Hi BryeLynn,
Hiya, been awhile, but have been listening to your podcasts, I am up to #17, but had to jump ahead and listen to this Quillow podcast. Back in 1994 I made eighteen!!! One year for Christmas gifts, I had like a production line going, all different sizes for my three sisters, their husbands and their children.. And most of them still have theirs! My mother takes hers everywhere she goes, even to the hospital, where she has been since Aug 7, 09. The pockets were appliqued, painted and some where a square panel..
I truly love your podcasts!! One thing I did learn from this one is to use the quilt tops that I have made,, so many like about twenty ready to be quilted, and I am now going to make quillows out of them, kewl idea you have! I am a member of Fons & Porter and will check out episode nine hundred, thanks for that tidbit.
Shelly, your wall hanging is just gorgeous and good luck at the art show, Kudo’s to you!!
I am English paper piecing as I listen to your podcast and will send photo in an email soon..
Take care and keep those podcast coming!!

Amazing detail work on the fish. Amazing tiny pieces of fabric, very tiny detailed stitching all over the piece. Very excellent!
Brye
Thanks for making and discussing a Quillow. My friend had one, but I never knew what it was called. I am going to have to look up a visual representation of how to make one so I can try for myself one day. Now I know what to look for, I am sure I can. Put that one on the list of “must complete someday” items.
Thank you all for your kind words. I am blushing. Brye thanks for providing us with a place to share! shelly beth
Shelly Beth, Beautiful fish quilts? Keep coming back and staring. What wonderful work. I’m envious.
Shelly Beth – your quilt is stunning; I love the bright colours and all the details. Congratulations on getting accepted into the juryed art gallery!
Brye, the reindeer is adorable. I’m so impressed that you do all your applique by hand!
I love, love, love the fish art quilt. Man, is that beautiful! And, Brye, I also love your quillow just as much. Great job! Keep those projects coming! I live vicariusly through all you people who have time to sew, stitch, and create!
Shelly Beth, Wow!! That must have taken a good long time! What fun. Quite impressive. How do you get all those bright colors to be so cohesive? Thank you so much for sharing!
