Episode 15 ~ Starting a Quilt Guild
Listen to the podcast of this postToday we talked about how to start a quilt guild.
Thank you to everyone who left comments this week. I really appreciate it. I had an email mishap this week with my new phone and accidently deleted a bunch of emails. Sorry, if I didn’t reply to yours.
I picked up two magazines this week – I would recommend them. They are not solely about quilting, but sewing in general. I am really enjoying them.
We got a new puppy! Meet “Reesee”. She looks just like a peanut butter cup. She is a 10 week only Chihuahua. She is miniature and probably won’t grow much bigger than 5lbs.

Question of the Week results:
- What do you consider yourself?
- 56% – Quilter
- 19% – Crafter
I finished another block in my Frolic quilt – only 11 more to go!!!
Here are some great links on how to start a quilt guild.

What a great podcast, loved the information on Guilds/quilting Bees. I have a little quilting group that meets at the Library and have been thinking about making it a Guild. Your information is very helpful!
Happy quilting,

Brye,
Loved hearing your podcast. Was a few hour delay between the time my iTunes checked for the new subscription. Because I was home and bored, I saw on FB that a new episode was posted and then had to wait and wait and wait for iTunes. I wonder if iTunes just checks for new updates once a day. Oh well.
Thanks for the info about guilds. There is a lot of behind the scene details that you have to think about. I live in a small town of 6000, with many guilds in communities nearby (much larger communities), I can now understand why some of them say “not accepting new members”. Luckily where I live, there are what appears to be 20-30 active members in a guild, and we support the local quilt shop. I have attended twice, and although shy in person, I am feeling like I could fit in with these ladies with time. The “president” keeps inviting me to come an encouraging me, which really helps me want to attend. Also something for people in any guild to keep in mind, encourage the newbies, help show them things, and they will help your guild grow.
She is too cute!
Love your Frolic block! And as I said on Facebook,
Reesee is sooooo cute!!
